More than 10 years ago, while sitting at dinner with a half dozen golf pros at Rancho de los Caballeros Golf Club, I predicted Tiger Woods would eventually destroy his left knee. Sports Science on ESPN has done a survey of how much pressure is exerted on Tiger Woods knee. It is an incredible force that is not justifiable if performance and maximum force on the golf ball was the most important factor to Tiger! The injuries to golfers and baseball hitters hips, knees, backs, shoulders, elbows and wrist can be so dramatically reduced or eliminated with technics that could also enhance performances! Now that Tiger has experienced knee damage and repair. My next prediction is that he will need further help with a surgeon on the left knee and later in life Tiger will possibly need physicians help with possibly both hips.
Below is a video I featured on our ESPN Show last year. The entire video would be very helpful to any parent or athlete interested in maintaing their good health, while successfully hitting a ball harder and farther. For golfers it will help you hit it straighter at the same time. At approximately 2:30 into the attached video, you will see core strength explanations and evidence of how the hips should actually function anatomically and scientifically correctly. With these visual concepts, I hope to assist any parent reevaluate how their son or daughter is taught to swing a golf club, softball bat or baseball bat. I do believe watching the entire video is also well worth the 6 minutes of time invested to see simple concepts that are advantageous for performance! It's our hope we can eliminate many kids from wasting time"Squishing the Bug" and other similar actions that are negative and worthless motions both scientifically and functionally, that actually hurt athletes performances!
My belief the last 40 years is that by avoiding injuries, players also can have the ability to hit a ball harder and farther than ever before. When PGA Tour Pro's talk about the longest ever on the PGA Tour, the name that comes up often is Iowa PGA Professional Sean McCarty. On our You Tube Channel, you will see Sean McCarty's tremendously forceful action that Calloway Golf once measured at 148 mph clubhead speed, when John Daly and Tiger Woods were hovering around 130 mph clubhead speeds. You will also see many young men hitting baseballs out of stadiums at a much higher frequency rate than the average group of baseball players, as well you will see many of our most successful pro's with great and healthy actions!
If it is your personal wish, or you have a wish for a son or daughter or grandchild to improve performance to a significantly higher level, while using healthy, scientifically sound and natural methods, please research what we've been doing differently for 35 years that produces these results.
One final note for those that think golf and baseball have a conflict, the baseball players you see, come out and blast golf balls to have fun and to enhance their ability to hit a baseball harder and farther! ( Just like Major League Baseball hitters do all year around!) Please never forget the importance of every youngster having the joy of a childhood that includes fun with friends and the opportunity to make new and great friends!
